We Do Dot Want To Recruit People Who Will Come And Commit Suicide In The Police–Kayode Egbetokun

The Inspector-General of Police (IG), Kayode Egbetokun, refuted claims yesterday that the Police Service Commission (NSC) and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF) were at odds over constable hiring, according to The Nation News.

According to Egbetokun, the reason behind the perceived controversy surrounding the exercise was his emphasis on the need for high-quality recruiting into the Police Force.

According to him, some of the people on the list of successful applicants were either disabled or unable to be trained.

During a meeting with senior police officers in Abuja regarding security before and after the approaching governorship elections in the states of Edo and Ondo, the police chief clarified the situation.

During the meeting with the officers, Egbetokun cited a Supreme Court decision that, in his opinion, did not exclude the Force from participating in the hiring of police officers. The greatest police force in Africa is headed by the IGP.

He is admired by more than 300,000 police officers for his leadership and direction. In any case, he is unable to observe how the hiring process is run. Ensuring high-quality recruiting into the Police Force is a job of the IGP. And we are doing precisely that.
