Igbo Are Always At The Receiving End Of The Consequences Of Any Activity Carried Out – Peter Ameh

On 9th August, 2024 the former Presidential Candidate from the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) of the just concluded General Election, Chief Peter Ameh while reacting to the ongoing nationwide protests against the administration of the President of Nigeria, Chief Bola Ahmed Tinubu, revealed that the main reason why the good people of the South Eastern parts of the country did not participate in the ongoing nationwide protests was primarily because of the easy targeting of lives and property of Igbo whenever there was an uprising or protests in the country.

According to Vanguard, the former Presidential Candidate from the Coalition of United Political Parties (CUPP) of the just concluded General Election, Chief Peter Ameh said “The main reason why the entire Southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria was unanimous in their decision not to participate in the ongoing #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest across the country is primarily as a result of the easy targeting of lives and property of Igbo whenever there is an uprising or protests in Nigeria.

Being the only tribe in Nigeria that could be found and visibly seen in the remotest parts of the country, Igbo are always at the receiving end of the consequences of any activity carried out either by the Nigerian government or the public.”

Chief Peter Ameh added that the constant and unjust scapegoating of the Igbo ethnic group in the country was the major reason why Igbo abstained from the ongoing nationwide protests.

He also added that the earlier the good people of the southeastern parts of the country fully accepted and given a sense of belonging in the affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the better and more productive the country would become.
