Anambra, Kaduna Didn’t Share In The N438bn; 34 States And FCT Got N438B To Fight Poverty—Femi Falana

In a recent video shared by Channels TV, Femi Falana, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, stated that in July, the federal government allocated 438 billion naira to 34 states and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). He said the purpose of this money was to fund programs aimed at reducing poverty.

However, Falana expressed concern that it is difficult to see tangible programs in these states that specifically address poverty. He disclosed that Anambra and Kaduna States did not receive any portion of the funds.

He said the agency responsible for distributing the money withheld these states’ shares because they were still waiting for reports on how previous disbursements were used.

In Falana’s words: “I must say this time around that Anambra State and Kaduna State did not partake of the 438 billion naira because the agency in charge of disbursing the money said they were still expecting the report from the states on previous disbursement.
