Protest: We Can’t Stop Until President Bola Tinubu Respond To Us And Address Our Demands- Damilare Adenola

Damilare Adenola, Director of Mobilisation for the Take It Back Movement, a non-governmental organisation, has declared that End Bad Governance protests, which have gained momentum due to economic hardships, will persist until President Bola Tinubu addresses their grievances.

According to Channels Television, in a statement on Friday, Adenola emphasised the protesters’ determination to continue their cause until their demands are met.

The protests, which began as a response to worsening economic conditions, have rapidly garnered support across the country.

Adenola said that the protesters are resolute in their stance that the government must take immediate and decisive action to alleviate the hardships facing ordinary Nigerians.

Interestingly, Adenola distanced his organisation from human rights lawyer Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), who had previously written to security agencies requesting protection for the demonstrators.

While Adegboruwa’s involvement was initially seen as supportive, Adenola clarified that the lawyer does not officially represent the Take It Back Movement.

This distinction was made after Adegboruwa urged the protesters to call off the rallies, citing concerns about the possibility of infiltration by bad actors seeking to disrupt the peaceful demonstrations.

Despite these warnings, Adenola reaffirmed that the protests would not be suspended, even in the face of potential risks.

He stressed that the protests will continue for the full 10-day duration as initially planned and possibly longer, depending on the government’s response.

Adenola said, “Ebun-Olu Adegboruwa is not our lawyer, and he doesn’t speak for us. He might have presented himself as the solicitor, but he is not hungry.

“He is a senior advocate of Nigeria who lives well. He is not hungry like the people taking over the streets.

“We are waiting for the government to respond to us and address our demands. And until then, the protests continue….Viêw_ More
