According to the report from the Sun, the Spiritual Director of the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry Uke and the Parish Priest of the Blessed Iwene Tansi Parish Umudioka both in Anambra State, Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Chibuzor Obimma expressed his belief that the Igbo people in Nigeria are not economically disadvantaged, highlighting their strong presence in markets across the country and their entrepreneurial spirit.

Despite acknowledging the political marginalization faced by the Igbo community, Obimma emphasized their resilience and determination to thrive economically, both within Nigeria and internationally.

Given this context, he questioned the relevance of the Igbo people joining protests focused solely on economic issues, asserting that they have demonstrated the ability to provide for themselves and succeed in various business endeavors.

According to Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Chibuzor Obimma, “I did so because I believe that Igbo people in Nigeria are not hungry; and they are not disadvantaged economically.

Igbo people are everywhere doing their legitimate businesses. Igbo people are making efforts to survive anywhere they find themselves. Go to all the markets in the North and SouthWest, the Igbos dominated everywhere. Igbo people populate all the markets, and they are controlling the markets.

Igbo people are aware that they are marginalized politically. They are aware that they have no share in the government of Nigeria. This is why they empower themselves economically.
