Our Beloved Country Has Turned To Laughing Stock Before The International Community–Eze Chukwuemeka

According to Daily Post, Chief Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct New People’s Democratic Party (nPDP) and a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has expressed strong disapproval of President Bola Tinubu’s recent broadcast addressing the nationwide protests in Nigeria.

Eze criticized the president’s speech, describing it as “shallow and grossly out of tune” with the concerns that have fueled the demonstrations. According to him, the president’s response failed to resonate with the pressing issues troubling the Nigerian populace.

In a statement to the media, Eze elaborated that Nigerians were expecting President Tinubu to present a clear and concrete plan for addressing critical issues. Among these issues are the extravagant costs associated with running public offices and the lavish lifestyles of government officials.

Eze emphasized that these concerns are at the core of the public’s discontent and that the president’s failure to address them comprehensively was a missed opportunity.

Eze pointed out that the president’s broadcast did not adequately tackle the key challenges facing the country, such as the high cost of governance, widespread corruption, and judicial malpractices.

He noted that these problems, along with others like corrupt electoral practices, hunger, unemployment, and the harsh effects of fuel subsidy removal, are significant barriers to Nigeria’s growth and development. The party chieftain argued that the broadcast seemed to undermine the legitimacy of the ongoing protests and therefore lacked substance.

The APC stalwart expressed his disappointment in President Tinubu’s handling of the volatile situation, attributing the unrest to what he perceives as the administration’s ineptitude.

Eze remarked that the president’s actions have distanced him from the founding principles of the APC, which are centered on unity and prosperity for Nigeria. He lamented that the current state of governance under Tinubu does not reflect the vision that the APC was built upon.

As a former spokesperson for the nPDP and a member of the APC Media Legacy Project Committee, Eze felt compelled to voice his concerns.

He criticized the president’s approach, asserting that the administration’s current trajectory diverges from the ideals that motivated many to support the party, often at great personal risk. This deviation, according to Eze, has led to a loss of confidence in the government and its leadership.

He said: Our beloved country has turned to a laughing stock before the international community as most countries now advise their citizens to be wary of traveling to Nigeria…..Viêw_ More
