According to Vanguard, His Excellency Eshanekpe Israel, also known as Akpodoro and the Mayor of Urhoboland, has issued a stern warning to those he labels as conflict entrepreneurs, anarchists, and demagogues who are protesting and calling for regime change.
He declared that any attempt to undermine Nigeria’s democracy will face severe repercussions from Niger Delta militants.
Akpodoro criticized Northern youths for personalizing the protests and escalating them into calls for anarchy. He emphasized that the Niger Delta Agitators are closely monitoring the situation and warned that challenging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s mandate is tantamount to attacking the nation’s stability.
He questioned the rationale behind the ongoing riots despite the President’s clear address to the nation. Reflecting on the #ENDSARS protests of 2020, Akpodoro noted the North’s non-participation back then and urged Northern youths to be cautious, highlighting that they do not hold a monopoly on actions that could destabilize the country.
“Northern youths should be very careful because they don’t have monopoly stupidity.”
