Why Did The Igbos In The South East Didn’t Protest When Many Of Them Were Supporting The Protest- Shehu Sani

Former Nigerian senator, author, playwright, and human rights activist Shehu Sani has expressed his observations following the refusal of states in the South East to join the nationwide protests, despite significant support from many South Easterners.

In a post shared on his official X page, Sani expressed curiosity about the apparent regional differences in protest participation. He questioned why Northerners refrained from protesting against former presidents Musa Yar’adua and Muhammadu Buhari, yet took to the streets against Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Sani further pondered the reluctance of the South East to actively participate in the protests, even though many individuals from the region supported the cause. The former senator also highlighted the consistent tendency of South Westerners to protest against various presidents. This pattern, according to Sani, raises questions about the underlying reasons for such regional political activism.

Hear him: “Why did the South East refused to protest when many south easterners were supporting the protest? Why did the Northerners refused to protest against Yar’adua and Buhari and they protested against GEJ and BAT?. Why did the South Westerners always protest against All the Presidents….Viêw_ More
