Abuja Protest: Nyesom Wike Reveals Senator’s Involvement in Sponsoring Anti-Government Protests

FCT Minister, Ezenwo Nyesom Wike, revealed that security agencies have identified a senator as a sponsor of the anti-government protests. This is according to Vanguard Newspaper.

This was disclosed after an emergency FCT Security Council meeting on Thursday night in Abuja. According to Wike, the senator was found to have arranged for security operatives to escort a truckload of food for the protesters.

The minister stated that the senator would be invited for questioning by relevant agencies in due time.

Wike emphasized that while protests are allowed in a democracy, protesters must respect the court order restricting their activities to the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.

He noted that the government is working to address the issues raised by the protesters, but emphasized the importance of obeying the rule of law and court orders.

The minister also expressed concerns about the potential for miscreants to hijack the protests and cause destruction, citing incidents in other states.

He warned that security agencies would not allow such destruction in the FCT, and urged protesters to assemble at the designated stadium…..Viêw_More
