Tinubu: ‘He’s A Very Courageous Person But I Doubt If The Same Courage Still Applies Now’ -Dan Ulasi

Former Chairman of the PDP in Anambra State, Dan Ulasi, acknowledged President Bola Tinubu’s past courage but expressed skepticism about whether that same courage is still present today. He lamented the current leadership’s inability to effectively communicate with the populace, allowing issues to escalate to the point of necessitating protests.

Ulasi observed that significant efforts are being made to prevent the protests, highlighting a disconnect between the government and the people’s concerns. He argued that this situation suggests a failure in governance, as protests are often a manifestation of unresolved issues and grievances within society. He noted that the government’s preemptive actions to halt the protests might stem from foreknowledge of potential unrest.

In an interview with Arise TV, Ulasi recalled a conversation with Tinubu at a London airport, where he questioned whether Tinubu had demonstrated the principles he often spoke about. He noted Tinubu’s history of protesting in Lagos against the PDP and his courage during those times but doubted if that courage still applies today.

Ulasi pointed out that Tinubu, having experienced various challenges in Lagos, should be able to communicate effectively with the people to prevent issues from escalating. He emphasized that protests are an expression of unresolved governance issues and suggested that the government’s efforts to stop the protests indicate they anticipate potential unrest.

He remarked, “I think it was in London airport that we saw one time and I said for all the things you (Tinubu) have been talking about, have you shown any in practice? And he (Tinubu) looked at me. I said you were protesting in Lagos against PDP. There was a time PDP took over five out of six states, it was only Lagos that survived. I’m not unmindful of his courage. He’s a very courageous person but I doubt if the same courage still applies now. Because this is a man who has gone through the process.

He didn’t fly in from the moon. He has seen a lot of manners of persons in Lagos. So why are they not able to talk to people until it gets to this point. And I can see the serious effort being made to stop the protest. And for me, protest is an expression of view. It’s the unresolved of governance. Maybe they have information and they anticipate that something is going to happen…..Viêw _More
