Let’s Talk’ Wike Begs Youths To Shun Hardship Protest

Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged Abuja’s youth to avoid participating in the upcoming #EndBadGovernance protest planned for August.

According to Channels TV, in a town hall meeting held on Monday in the Bwari Area Council, Wike called for dialogue over demonstrations, emphasizing the need for constructive engagement to address the nation’s economic issues.

The town hall gathered a diverse group, including area council chairmen, traditional leaders, religious representatives, and various youth and women’s organizations. In his remarks, Wike acknowledged the widespread frustration over economic hardships but stressed that peaceful dialogue would be more productive than protest actions.

We recognize the challenges you face, but let us resolve these issues through conversation rather than confrontation,” Wike stated. He underscored the administration’s commitment to addressing the economic problems and improving conditions for all citizens.

Wike assured the attendees that the government is actively working on solutions, including new initiatives aimed at bettering the infrastructure and support systems in the FCT.

Highlighting recent developments, Wike announced that President Bola Tinubu has approved the establishment of a youth secretariat within the FCT Administration (FCTA).

Additionally, new police stations will be set up in each area council to enhance security and community engagement. These efforts, according to Wike, are part of a broader strategy to respond to public concerns and improve living conditions….Viêw_ More
