According to the report from the Punch, a political economist and former presidential candidate, Prof Pat Utomi affirmed his intention to sue Bayo Onanuga in both the United States and Nigeria for defamation, arguing that it is his right to do so.
He further suggested that the Bola Tinubu government could also be held accountable, considering Onanuga as their agent.
As a scholar of post-colonial African states, he expressed concern over the declining state of governance in Africa, noting that the current situation has reached an unprecedented low due to the spread of falsehoods by government agents.
He said, “Why not? It is my right. I live in the United States and I will sue him (Bayo Onanuga) in the United States and Nigeria. I will sue the (Bola) Tinubu government because he is their agent. As I said in my release, I am a student of the state in post-colonial Africa.
