I Spent 24 Years In Death’s Den; I Was In Prison And My Family Members Did Not Visit Me -Ex-Inmate

In an interview with Punch, Ismail Lasisi, a former inmate, revealed that he spent 24 years in prison.

He went ahead saying he spent those years in prison after being wrongly accused of killing a woman for ritual purposes.

Lasisi revealed that his friends committed the crime and falsely accused him.

He said that when he went to the police station to clear his name, he was arrested and tortured by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) until he falsely confessed.

A judge sentenced him to death, and he was sent to Abeokuta prison.

During his imprisonment, his family did not visit him, believing he was guilty.

After 24 years, he was finally released with the help of a pastor.
