People Who Are More Hungry Now Will Explore The Opportunity To Loot People’s Shops- Mike Ejiofor

Mike Ejiofor, a former DSS Director has expressed concerns that the planned nationwide protests against hardship in the country could escalate into violence.

While speaking in an interview with Arise TV, Ejiofor noted that the current economic hardship and widespread hunger might lead to people using the protests as an opportunity to loot shops.

He urged the organizers of the protest to reconsider their plans and give the government time to address the issues. Ejiofor noted that the president is actively consulting with various interest groups, including governors, party leaders, religious leaders and even traditional rulers.

He said, “I think we all agreed that there’s hardship in the country, there’s economic hardship, there’s hunger and there’s anger in the land. But again, people who are more hungry now, will explore the opportunity to even loot people’s shops, and it eventually turns violent.

“That’s why I personally too will continue to appeal to the organizers to shelve the plans, give government time to look at it.
