Go Back To Your Original Friends In Civil Liberties And Seek Their Assistance–Dele Momodu To Tinubu

Former presidential aspirant Dele Momodu has attributed the current challenges facing Nigerians, which have led to a planned nationwide protest, to President Bola Tinubu’s governance, as reported by DAILY POST.

In an open letter posted on X, Momodu expressed his concerns about the hardships ordinary Nigerians are enduring and the perception that President Tinubu’s approach to governance has changed. He pointed out that things have been difficult for most Nigerians, except for a privileged few, since Tinubu achieved his ambition of becoming president.

Momodu indicated that Tinubu might not have realized the complexity of governing a country compared to governing a state. He also expressed sadness and embarrassment that a former democracy advocate like Tinubu is now opposing the right of Nigerians to congregate and demonstrate, a right both of them enjoyed during the military regimes at home and abroad.

While Momodu stated his opposition to anarchy, he emphasized the importance of managing potential threats without undermining democratic rights. Drawing from his peace initiatives in Sierra Leone, Liberia, and The Gambia, Momodu assured that any potential threat could be contained and neutralized.

He urged Tinubu to seek guidance from civil liberties advocates and to evaluate the effectiveness of Nigeria’s security agencies without resorting to authoritarian measures. Momodu advised Tinubu to ignore the advice of the hawks in his team, who, according to him, have nothing to lose since they are mostly beneficiaries of what others died for.

Please Sir, go back to your original friends in civil liberties and seek their assistance. Then, use this opportunity to test the strength of your security architecture and the combat readiness of our security agencies. Ignore the advice of the hawks in your team. They have nothing to lose since they are mostly beneficiaries of what others died for,” he stated…..Viêw_ More
