Okupe Accuses Peter Obi Of Betraying Atiku In Presidential Bid

A former Director-General of the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential campaign, Doyin Okupe has accused the party’s candidate, Peter Obi, of betraying the Peoples Democracy Party’s (PDP) candidate, Atiku Abubakar, by running for president.

Okupe stated that Obi’s presidential ambitions led him to oppose Atiku, who initially introduced him to national politics.

According to athe Punch, Doyin revealed that his withdrawal of support stemmed from a decision to no longer work with him.

In a viral video circulating on social media, Okupe said his life and political destiny cannot be tied to Obi’s ambition.

He went further to say that it was a prominent leader of the pan-Yoruba group Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo that played a crucial role in persuading him to support Peter Obi.
