If You Check History And Look At List Of APC Senators, My Name Is Number 21 Out Of 22– Ali Ndume

Senator Ali Ndume, recently ousted as Chief Whip of the Senate, has revealed the circumstances under which he joined the All Progressives Congress (APC). Ndume, representing Borno South, disclosed that both former President Muhammadu Buhari and current President Bola Tinubu directed him to sign a document formalizing his membership in the APC at the Imo government lodge.

Ndume recounted that his decision to join the APC was not made lightly. He emphasized that he consulted extensively with his constituents before making the move. His membership was part of the New PDP (NPDP) faction that merged to form the APC, highlighting his foundational role in the party’s creation.

He stressed his deep commitment to the APC, rooted in his participation as one of the 22 NPDP senators instrumental in the party’s formation. Ndume pointed out that his name appears as number 21 on the list of these founding senators, illustrating his significant historical contribution to the APC’s establishment.

In an interview with Channels TV, Ndume stressed that his affiliation with the APC predated that of Abdullahi Ganduje, the current APC national chairman. He explained that his entry into the APC was the result of careful deliberation and consultation with his people, not a spur-of-the-moment decision.

Ndume elaborated on the key moment at the Imo government lodge, where he was summoned by Rochas Okorocha to meet with Buhari and Tinubu. He recounted that Buhari, accompanied by Tinubu, presented him with the list of NPDP senators and directed him to sign it, sealing his membership in the APC.
