Atiku Reacts To The Sacking Of Senator Ndume After He Told President Tinubu To Wake Up To His Duties

The former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Waziri Atiku Abubakar has reacted to the sacking of senator Ali Ndume as the Chief Whip of the Senate.

In the post that Atiku made on his official X handle on Thursday, he said Senator Ali Ndume was relieved as the Chief Whip of the Senate because he told the President to wake up to his duties and responsibilities and provide succour to address the biting hunger and poverty in the nation.

The former Vice President stated that democracy under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has become an anathema to the general principle of democracy which provides protection for the people against the excessiveness of the executive arm of government. He said as it stands, the National Assembly is the one enabling the recklessness of the executive.

Here is what Atiku Abubakar wrote on his official X handle;

“Regrettably, however, the democracy in Nigeria in the current administration of President Bola Tinubu has become an anathema to that general principle of democracy as providing primary protection for the people against executive excesses.

Only yesterday, Senator Ali Ndume called for the President to wake up to his responsibilities and provide succour to address the biting hunger and poverty in the country. Ironically, the response of the Senate to his patriotic warning is to relieve him of his principal office as the Chief Whip of the Senate….Viêw _More
