The Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu, has appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Tinubu’s government.
According to the report by Punch on Tuesday, the Oba of Lagos said that the President has sincere intentions for the nation.
Speaking during a visit by the wife of the President, Oluremi Tinubu, to his palace, Oba Akiolu stressed Tinubu’s grassroots-oriented approach and urged Nigerians to pray for the country and its leader.
The monarch also advised Nigerian youths to strengthen their relationship with God and learn to be self-sufficient, acknowledging their diligence and work ethic.
He noted that while some youths may be lazy and expect to be spoon-fed, they should be taught to take initiative and learn to “fish” for themselves.
The monarch said, “All that I am saying and appealing is that we should pray for Nigeria and the President. We should be patient. Everything good needs prayers.”
Speaking during the visit, the First Lady thanked the Oba for his support and prayers, assuring him that President Tinubu loves Nigeria and Nigerians and will do his utmost for them.
She also promised that the state’s representatives would champion the Oba’s request for a special status for Lagos State.
