Rivers Gov, Fubara Reveals Why Members Of A House Of Reps Committee Led By Hon Ogah Paid Him A Visit

The executive Governor of Rivers state and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, Siminalayi Fubara has reacted after he hosted members of the House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions led by its Chairman, Hon. Chinedu Ogah in Government House, Port Harcourt, Rivers state capital on Monday.

Siminalayi Fubara stated on his verified Facebook page on Monday; “Today, I hosted members of the House of Representatives Committee on Reformatory Institutions led by its Chairman, Hon. Chinedu Ogah in Government House, Port Harcourt. They were in the State in performance of their oversight function on Correctional Centres.”

He added; “The visit was an opportunity to reflect on and examine the issues causing congestion at the Correctional facilities which include delays emanating from institutions such as the Police and the Judiciary. I assured the Committee of Rivers State’s readiness to partner with the Federal Government in relocating some correctional facilities from city centers to other locations in the state.”

He stated further; “Importantly, we were impressed and deeply appreciative of the Committee’s observation and acknowledgement of the drastic reduction of crime and criminality in Rivers State under our watch. We promised to continue our collaborations to make the country succeed.”
