Not Only Fulanis Are Rearing Cows In Benue The Tivs And Other Tribes Have Their Cows – Baba Ngelzarma

The National Secretary of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria, Usman Baba Ngelzarma has alleged that the cattle business in Benue is not solely managed by the Fulani people and that the Tivs and several other tribes also own cattle in the state.

He criticized the anti-open grazing law implemented by the former Benue Governor, stating that it was doomed to fail from the beginning as it offered no tangible benefits. He highlighted that, despite the law’s intentions, there are no established ranches in Benue, undermining its effectiveness.

He said in an interview with Channels TV, ”The anti-open grazing law established by Ortom, that law from the onset was made to fail because it’s not going to do anybody any good. And today that we are speaking about the law, there is no single established ranches in Benue.

Not only the Fulanis are rearing Cows in Benue, the Tivs and so many other tribes have their cows. Even Orton has cows in Benue but there is no single established ranches as I sepak to you today in Benue.

And nobody is happy about that, nobody is happy that Farmers are kept in IDPs and nobody is happy that the Pastoralists have lost huge amount of cows in Benue. This is what the laws brought to Benue….Discover _More
