Epelle noted that Wike, unaware of its significance at the time, signed the world’s first albinism policy, setting a precedent for global recognition and support.

Epelle emphasised that this accomplishment underscores the importance of prioritising the well-being of the Rivers people, urging key figures to work towards the common good and avoid perpetuating harmful actions.

According to him, “I think Wike did something that he has even forgotten, you understand? Wike was the first minister in the world to sign the albinism policy.

Unknown to him when he was doing it, he was signing the first policy on albinism in the whole world. So my point is, it’s not a question of sitting down; I don’t want to claim anything.
