Professor Usman Yusuf, the former Executive Secretary of National Health Insurance Scheme, has called for non-violent methods to restore security in northern Nigeria
In an interview with Arise TV, Prof Usman stated that there is conflict between Fulani groups and vigilantes set up by state governors.
He criticized the governors for creating vigilante groups and stated that this action has contributed to the current situation where multiple armed groups are involved in conflict, complicating efforts to restore peace and security
In Prof Usman’s words: “The Fulanis are fighting vigilantes, when the military comes with bombs and drones, who do they drop bombs on? The vigilantes are armed and bandits are armed and the governors created all this vigilantes.
