The Public Relations Officer of the state police command, Omolola Odutola, who disclosed the arrest on her X handle, said the 25-year-old woman, whose name was given as Temitope Adetanju, was arrested on the order of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Obada Oko Police Station.
It was gathered that she was arrested for allegedly inserting a firewood into the private part of the 12-year-old girl after the girl was found to have reportedly stolen N200 biscuit, N150 sachet of Milo as well as N300 Mr Fruit, totalling N650.
According to the Police PRO, she is currently under interrogation and may be charged for child abuse as well as assault occasioning bodily harm.
She wrote: “One Temitope Adetanju, a 25-year-old woman, has been arrested by Divisional Police Officer (DPO) Obada Oko in Ogun State for inserting a sizeable firewood into the private part of a 12-year-old for stealing biscuit N200, Milo N150 and Mr Fruit N300.”
